Chris Boswell's jaw-dropping stats make him a fantasy football unicorn

The Pittsburgh Steelers would not be sitting at 8-2 and atop the AFC North right now if not for the incredible season kicker Chris Boswell is having, plain and simple.

The veteran kicker has come through in the clutch on several occasions this year, including in Week 11 when his six field goals propelled the Steelers to an 18-16 victory over the Baltimore Ravens.

Through 10 games, Boswell has nailed 29-of-30 field goals and all 20 of his extra points. He is 16 field goals shy of breaking the all-time record for the most in a single season. He is also just the second player in NFL history to nail six field goals in a game twice in a single campaign.

Here's another fun stat: Boswell is responsible for 107 points this season, which is just 19 points fewer than the rest of the team has scored combined.

Update: Boswell 107, all others aside from backup QB 96, Justin Fields 30 https://t.co/ACIx7LdYaJ

As you'd expect, Boswell's impressive campaign has led to him being quite the fantasy football asset. Here's where he ranks in total points among all players, regardless of position, per Fantasy Pros:

Standard: 37th
Half PPR: 48th
Full PPR: 63rd

Here's where Boswell's point total would rank at each position, in each format:

Standard: QB23, RB14, WR2, TE1
Half PPR: QB23, RB19, WR8, TE1
Full PPR: QB23,  RB22, WR18, TE3

According to ESPN Fantasy Sports, Boswell has more fantasy points in PPR formats than wide receivers Cooper Kupp, DK Metcalf, Tyreek Hill, DeVonta Smith, A.J. Brown and DJ Moore, running backs Najee Harris and Jonathan Taylor, and tight ends Travis Kelce and Trey McBride.

Truly incredible. It remains to be seen if Boswell will be able to keep up this kind of pace, but the fact he's gotten this far is impressive in and of itself.

If you're of the opinion that Boswell is the team's Most Valuable Player this season, we would have no gripe with that.
