The Kansas City Chiefs go up against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday in Seattle, and this isn't just any game. This matchup, of course, involves a very familiar player returning to Seattle to go up against his former team.
We're talking about Kenneth Walker III. The Michigan State University product landed with the Chiefs in free agency, and now he's coming back to take on the team that let him walk. It's going to be dramatic.
The Chiefs are undefeated going into the matchup, while the Seahawks have been struggling and have a 3-3 record. That doesn't mean it'll be an easy win for Kansas City, but it's worth pointing out.
Kenneth Walker III is at the center of the Chiefs-Seahawks matchup
In a piece previewing the game, Nate Taylor of ESPN gave this game a fun nickname. It's totally appropriate, too.
"For the Chiefs, Sunday's primetime showdown against the Seahawks can be called the Kenneth Walker III Classic," he states in the piece. "With Walker facing his former team for the first time, many of the Chiefs' veterans, including QB Patrick Mahomes, want to see him excel in a victory."
"I know it's going to be a special moment for him," Mahomes said of Walker, according to Taylor. "You get to go back to the place where you kind of built your career, where you [won] a Super Bowl. Just like anything, you've got to win a game, and he knows that we have his back."
Mahomes is obviously having a lot of fun with Walker this season. These two are dynamic together. Now, they'll have to do it against Walker's former team.
