Chiefs urged to bring Ex-Chargers star to Kansas City

The 2025 National Football League Draft is now behind us but that doesn't mean that teams are done making big moves.

There are plenty of talented players still available in free agency right now that will have a big impact on the 2025 season. The Kansas City Chiefs have been pretty active this offseason but there is still room for growth if they want to sit atop the AFC standings once again in 2025. Because of this, CBS Sports' Cody Benjamin suggested that Kansas City goes out and signs former Los Angeles Chargers and Baltimore Ravens running back JK Dobbins.

"J.K. Dobbins to the Chiefs," Benjamin said. "A year after showcasing his trademark explosiveness with the Los Angeles Chargers, perhaps Dobbins is ready for a new AFC West squad. Kansas City took a flyer on Elijah Mitchell earlier this offseason, but since when does Andy Reid turn down additional options in the backfield? Dobbins could function as a speedier running mate to the physical Isiah Pacheco with Kareem Hunt approaching 30."

Dobbins racked up 905 rushing yards last year in the division for the Chargers in 13 games played. The Chiefs already have two capable backs in Pacheco and Hunt, but if the price is right, it wouldn't hurt to bring an intriguing 26-year-old to town in the form of Dobbins. Why not at this point? It can never hurt to have too many weapons in a Patrick Mahomes-led offense.
