Chiefs predicted to part ways with 3-time All-Pro after season

The Kansas City Chiefs are two wins away from achieving the first three-peat in NFL history. Regardless of the season's ending, they will have key decisions to make in the offseason.

While listing players who are playing in their final postseason for the Chiefs, FanSided's Cody Williams predicted that DeAndre Hopkins would be playing elsewhere after this season.

"Hopkins will be 33 years old at the start of next season while the Chiefs also have to be looking at other pending free agents like Hollywood Brown, Mecole Hardman and even JuJu Smith-Schuster (another candidate to be playing his final playoff run in Kansas City)," wrote Williams. "Is it really viable to bring back Hopkins, especially considering that he wasn't notably productive once he arrived and that he will still likely have a market based on his name?"

Hopkins has 437 yards in 10 games with the Chiefs. He has scored four touchdowns as well. Hopkins is not the player he once was, but playing with Patrick Mahomes has made him productive again. He is a five-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro.

When the Chiefs traded for Hopkins they had a clear need at the position. However, they will expect a jump from Xavier Worthy and have Rashee Rice back next season. The Chiefs could also draft a receiver if they think their internal options are not cutting it. Spotrac projects Hopkins to sign a one-year, $15 million deal in free agency.
