Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes delivers 4-word message on Bills' 'hostile' feelings

The Kansas City Chiefs know that on Sunday, they'll be walking into a buzzsaw at Highmark Stadium to face the Buffalo Bills...and that's just how Patrick Mahomes likes it.

With the two teams developing quite the rivalry over the past couple of years, with colossal regular-season and playoff games seeing both teams play some elite football, the next installment promises to be yet another heavyweight clash.

But for Mahomes, when asked about what it is like to play on the road in Buffalo, he is under no illusions as to how Bills Mafia feels about him and the Chiefs.

However, he's ready for all the smoke.

“They don't like us, they do not like the Chiefs,” Mahomes said. “It is a cool environment. I love playing in historic stadiums. Who knows, it might be the last time that we get the opportunity to play there. It'll be a great challenge for us. They're loud, and that's what you want. You want to go in and be in a hostile environment.

"They're not rooting for us, but you get to bond together as a team and get to go into a historic stadium and play in a great environment.”

Chiefs looking to deliver mental blow vs. Bills

Much has been made of the quirky nature of this game, with the Bills 4-0 in the last four games in the regular season and the Chiefs 4-0 in the postseason in the last four games, and Kansas City now has a chance to further emphasize the mental demons that torment Buffalo in the postseason.

The Bills "always" beat the Chiefs in the regular season, but that doesn't matter because when it "really counts," Kansas City always comes through in the playoffs.

So, imagine what a Chiefs win in the regular season could do to Buffalo's psyche, especially losing at home. Granted, some might see it as this is the time the Bills win in the playoffs, but the mental hurdles Sean McDermott's team would have to overcome would be huge.

The Chiefs, who are flying high right now, have a chance to remind the Bills just who the AFC kings are once again.
