Chiefs' Andy Reid reveals 6-word response to Rashee Rice's return

4 hours ago 2

What a difference Rashee Rice makes. The Kansas City Chiefs obliterated the Las Vegas Raiders 31-0 with No. 4 making some sort of return, having missed the first six games of the season.

At Arrowhead Stadium, it was the Rice show as he caught seven passes for 42 yards and two touchdowns in his first game of the season as Patrick Mahomes and Co. ran up the score on a poor Raiders team.

Mahomes would go 26 of 35 for 286 yards and three touchdowns with Travis Kelce (two receptions, 54 yards) and Rice the chief destroyers.

But as for Rashee's return, head coach Andy Reid was pleased with what he saw.

“It was great to have him back,” Reid said. “I think you saw the trust that Pat has in him, which is so important for Pat and the guys. It was great. I thought the whole the receiving crew did a nice job, but it was great to have him back in there and the energy he brings.”

Chiefs are back in Super Bowl race

It's not like they really ever left, right?

But now that the offense is finally healthy, we saw what it is capable of, and yes, Maxx Crosby was injured during the game; however, the offense was rolling early.

With Mahomes and Co. in this sort of mood, and the defense appearing to get better with each passing week, Kansas City is now level with the 4-3 Los Angeles Chargers for second in the division, so Reid's team is now fully back in contention.

The Washington Commanders are up next at Arrowhead, and Jayden Daniels was forced to leave the game early vs. the Dallas Cowboys with a hamstring injury, so the Chiefs might not be seeing No. 5 next week.

Then it is the Buffalo Bills. So, the Chiefs, after a scratchy start to the year, appear to be hitting their stride, much to the dismay of the rest of the league.
