Chicago Bulls vs Milwaukee Bucks Preview
This East Group C NBA Emirates Cup matchup pits two of the most surprising overachievers to start the season. The Bulls started their NBA Cup campaign with a win over the New York Knicks, while this will be Milwaukee’s first in-tourney game of the season.
Chicago has surprised everyone with a 6-1 start that sees it atop the standings. It is coming off of a 113-111 win against the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday. Josh Giddey led the team with a triple-double of 29 points, 15 rebounds and 12 assists. Nikola Vucevic had 19 points and 10 rebounds.
The Bulls seem to be firing on all cylinders after losing in the past three play-in tournaments and failing to make the playoffs. In a wide open East, they have taken a step in the right direction and now need to build on the great start.
Chicago will be without Zach Collins (left wrist fracture) and Coby White (calf), while Ayo Dosunmu is questionable with a quadriceps injury.
The Bucks are another team that has silenced its doubters with a solid start to the season. However, Milwaukee must be worried after a lopsided 128-100 loss to the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday.
Giannis Antetokounmpo had 22 points and eight rebounds, while Ryan Rollins and Myles Turner had 11 and 10 points, respectively. Kyle Kuzma came off of the bench for 18 points.
The loss might just be an aberration, something that the Bucks would like to put behind them and get their NBA Cup campaign to a great start as they are the defending champs of the in-season tournament.
Milwaukee will be without Kevin Porter Jr. indefinitely as he underwent surgery on his right knee. Tauren Prince is questionable for Friday’s game with a neck strain.
