The Oklahoma City Thunder are the favorites to win the championship in a bid to defend their win from last season. They are well on their way to succeeding again because they have a special group of players led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
As the reigning regular season and Finals MVP, most people will be well aware of his excellence. However, he is not alone because the Thunder also have two other stars in Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren, who is fresh off his first-ever All-Star Game.
Holmgren was surprised by the All-Star ring
Since he became an All-Star, Holmgren was given the traditional ring for All-Star players. This has been a long-standing tradition since the 1980s, but it has gone unnoticed by a lot of people, including the players.
Holmgren himself was surprised by the rings because he thought being named an All-Star was already an honor. However, he was given a physical representation of his achievement by elevating himself from being a really good player to one of the league's top stars.

Moving forward, Holmgren looks to be one of the league's best big men. He is already a fantastic defender who is always in the running for Defensive Player of the Year. However, he will also get noticed for his overall growth into an All-Star player.
"I didn't know that you get a ring for All-Star until I got it. It's pretty cool, it comes with a video and a box with it. It's pretty sick, but I think I like our ring from last summer a little bit more," Holmgren said about his new ring after the 2026 All-Star Game.
The Thunder are set for a massive second half of the season. They have met expectations as the league's best team, but there have been some shaky moments here and there. Holmgren will play a massive role in that, but in the meantime, they will be getting some much-deserved rest for the next few days.
