Chelsea head into the upcoming 2025-26 Premier League season on the back of a successful last campaign.

Under the stewardship of Enzo Maresca, the Blues managed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League and also clinched the UEFA Conference League before going on to win the FIFA Club World Cup at the beginning of July.

In addition to their achievements last season, Chelsea have signed a host of players in the ongoing transfer window, thereby strengthening their squad even further.

Chelsea’s latest signing is reportedly Jorrel Hato, who is on the verge of joining the club from Ajax on a seven-year deal.

While some are backing Chelsea to fight for the title next season, one Chelsea player is bracing for a tough season and has warned his teammates about the upcoming campaign.

In the process, he has also called for a mindset change among the players at the club.

Levi Colwill is a player who takes pride in Chelsea being the Club World Cup champions, and he believes that oppositions will be looking for a win against his team in the upcoming season.

Speaking to The Athletic, Colwill said, “Do I think teams will target a win over Chelsea even more so that they can say they have beaten the world champions? Definitely, but that is not a bad thing.”

“They will give us respect. But we have to always be on it; our mindset has to be that we have to win every game.”

Finishing in the top four of the Premier League last season also meant that Colwill and Chelsea have qualified for the Champions League next season, and the Englishman highlighted how much he is looking forward to playing in that competition.

“When that anthem comes on, it is going to be a dream, I could get a bit emotional, to be honest.”

Chelsea’s last appearance in the Champions League was in 2023 when they reached the quarter-final. But if their current squad can play to their potential next season, they could go even further next season.
