Chelsea set to receive some 'big offers' for one of Enzo Maresca's favorite players

Today marks the commencement of a huge week in the ongoing transfer window for Chelsea.

The Blues are closing in on the signing of Joao Pedro from Brighton and Hove Albion and have also agreed a deal for Borussia Dortmund’s young sensation Jamie Gittens.

Those two players alone will cost the Blues well in excess of £100m. However, it's not only about the incomings at Stamford Bridge this week.

The club will want to balance the books by offloading some players, with the likes of Noni Madueke, Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku all being candidates to go.

Madueke, for one, is currently at the Club World Cup with Jackson and Nkunku, but he could depart Stamford Bridge once the tournament concludes.

Journalist Simon Phillips has claimed on Si Phillips Talks Chelsea that the Blues will receive some “big offers” for Madueke after the Club World Cup.

Arsenal are rumoured to be interested in Madueke and Jackson, so the Gunners could end up with two of Chelsea’s attackers before the end of the transfer window.

Mikel Arteta’s team rates the English international highly and are expected to make a bid for him once the ongoing Club World Cup ends.

While Chelsea may be open to selling the young winger, they may not get Maresca’s seal of approval for the deal to go through, as the manager is fond of the player and has publicly praised him in the past.

In such a situation, it will be interesting to see how things pan out if Arsenal, or any other club, make a bid for Madueke during the current transfer window.
