Chelsea are still enjoying their Club World Cup win in New Jersey, also their second title in that competition- but attention has quickly turned back to transfers as the new season approaches.
One of the biggest stories right now is the future of Christopher Nkunku, who was signed in 2023 with high hopes but now seems likely to leave the club just two seasons later.
According to L’Équipe, Chelsea are open to selling the 27-year-old Frenchman this summer, even though he still has four years left on his contract.
Nkunku has had a difficult time in England, struggling with injuries and working under two different managers, which made it hard for him to find his best form.
He has managed to score 18 goals and provide 5 assists in 62 matches for the Blues, but he never really looked settled in the team or fully confident on the pitch.
Enzo Maresca has even tried playing him in deeper midfield roles during training which shows the club may not see him as a key attacker anymore.

Several top clubs are interested, and The Times says Bayern Munich have been watching his situation for some time and are still in contact, while Manchester United have now joined the race too.

Chelsea tell price of Manchester United and Bayern Munich target
According to the Mirror, Chelsea have set a £35 million [$47m] asking price for the French star.
Reportedly, they are only looking for a permanent sale and won’t accept any loan deals or player swaps.
Reporter Ben Jacobs (via @iMiaSanMia) adds that Nkunku is open to moving back to Germany, which might give Bayern a better chance of signing him.
With João Pedro and Liam Delap leading Chelsea’s new attack, it’s starting to look like Nkunku’s time at Stamford Bridge could be coming to an end soon.
Now it’s up to Bayern Munich and Manchester United to decide whether they’ll make an official move.
