One of the biggest headaches for Chelsea going into the ongoing transfer window would have been how to get Joao Felix off their books.
The Portuguese international has struggled to nail down a spot in Chelsea’s starting eleven since moving to the club, and spent the last season on loan at AC Milan, where the Italian media criticised him for his performances.
Earlier this week, Fabrizio Romano revealed that Benfica were working hard to sign Felix from the Blues.
However, there have been a few more updates about Felix’s future since then.
Since that report from Romano, Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly asked the Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr to sign his Portuguese compatriot, and the team has responded by making a move for the player.
Now, Felix has reportedly responded to the move by giving the Saudi side a positive response and saying ‘yes’ to the move.

Joao Felix says ‘yes’ to Al-Nassr’s proposal

According to reports, Benfica were keen on bringing Felix back to his boyhood club, but the Portuguese side have been dealt a blow as the player has said ‘yes’ to Al-Nassr’s proposal.
Romano took to X to reveal that Felix has accepted Al-Nassr’s proposal; as a result, Benfica have withdrawn their offer for the player.
The news comes as a boost to Ronaldo, who is set to link up with his compatriot at club level, too. Ronaldo played his part by convincing Felix to join the Saudi side.
More importantly, from a Chelsea perspective, the Blues are set to receive a substantial amount of over £40m ($53m) for Felix.
Given that Felix has failed to have the desired impact at Stamford Bridge, it could be a great bit of business for Chelsea.
