Charlie Woods snaps at fan who takes photo at worst possible moment at US Junior Amateur

Charlie Woods flashed some of the fire his father is famous for during the US Junior Amateur on Tuesday.

Tiger Woods’ son snapped at a fan taking a premature photo of him as he hit a crucial pitch shot during the playoff to qualify for the Round of 64.

“Really, dude?” Charlie said to the person taking the snap. Another person in the crowd then chided the photographer: “Right in the middle of his swing.”

Charlie was one of 14 golfers to finish at 5-over after two rounds at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pa.

That put him into a playoff where two of the 14 golfers would advance to the match play portion of the event — a 64-player bracket similar to the NCAA Tournament.

According to online accounts, this shot occurred on the first playoff hole in which Woods would have needed a birdie to advance to the next hole.

Woods would leave the photo-interrupted shot from the rough short of the green and go on to make bogey to end his championship.

The 17-year-old Woods is currently 1,841 in the amateur rankings as he is set to begin his college career at Florida State.

The issue with the photographer was not the only frustrating part of the day for Charlie, who was also recorded dropping an F-bomb after an errant tee shot on the par-3 11th hole.

The price of being the son of the best golfer of all-time is the increased scrutiny that comes with it as Charlie searches to make his own way in the sport.

Charlie has had a number of impressive finishes, including a victory at the Team Taylor Made Invitational in May 2025.

Charlie is one of two children that Tiger had with ex-wire Elin Nordgren. Charlie’s older sister, Sam, currently attends Stanford University, following in Tiger’s collegiate footsteps.
