The Los Angeles Chargers took a chance in free agency on Monday in the early stages of training camp.
They've reached an agreement with running back Nyheim Hines, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The former Colts and Bills RB has been out of the league for two seasons due to a brutal knee injury.
The last time Hines was on an NFL field, he returned two kickoffs for touchdowns for the Buffalo Bills in the same game.
But the following summer, Hines got in a jet-ski accident and tore his ACL. He hasn't been back on a football field for a game since.
He'll turn 29 years old in November, but after a couple seasons away of rehab and recovery, he might be rather fresh and ready to go at this point.

The 5-foot-9 scat back was a fourth-round pick by the Colts in 2018. He has played in 81 NFL games, all but nine of them for the Colts, with the Bills the rest.
In Hines' career, he has 1,205 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns along with 1,778 receiving yards and eight more touchdowns.
He'd likely be suited best for a special teams and third-down role with the Chargers. His depth might be of more importance if Najee Harris takes a while to return from his fireworks incident.
Regardless, it'll be awesome to see Hines back on the field.
