Chanel West Coast Makes Surprise Career Move After Ridiculousness Exit
Juggling while skateboarding is impressive and all, but Chanel West Coast would like to know if you've ever tried recovering from liposuction.
Detailing the process on her MTV reality series The West Coast Hustle last year, "I wanted to be more open about it once I found out how hard it was," the musician (born: Chelsea Chanel Dudley) explained in an exclusive interview with E! News. "Because I'm like, all these girls are out here doing this and not telling anybody how brutal the recovery process is."
Relying on the procedure to help her feel more like herself after welcoming daughter Bowie Breeze with boyfriend Dom Fenison in November 2022, "I was like, let me be more honest about this so people know that you don't just pop out with a good body," the 36-year-old continued. "It is such a long, treacherous recovery process. When you're healing, you itch so bad for months. And I was like, 'Dude, I could never do this again.'"
Not that she regrets enduring all that ridiculousness.
"I do feel like if I never did the lipo, I would have still got my body back eventually," she shared. "It definitely was the little jump start I needed, though. So any girls out there who are pretending that it's super easy, I'm like, 'What do you do? We need to know the secret.'"

Either way, she's excited to dive into another summer with confidence.
When she first launched her Coasty Swim line in 2022, "I found out I was pregnant," the Ridiculousness alum recounted. "I obviously wasn't making maternity swimwear, so that was a little bit hard."
In the ensuing years, "It's been a struggle getting my body back to where I want to be health-wise and fitness-wise," she continued. "And now that I think I got my body back to where it's supposed to be, I'm going super hard with all new photo shoots."
It's tough work, she acknowledged, but someone's got to do it.
"I just really love doing a swimwear line," said Chanel. "It came to me on vacation one day. I was like, this is the perfect business because you can be on vacation and promote something you're selling at the same time. It's just a very natural thing for me. I love beach life, lake life. I'm always on the water somewhere and that's why I started the line."
She also recently dipped her leather-soled foot into a new venture.
"The plan was, I always wanted to blow up as a rapper first and evolve into singing," Chanel explained. And as she began teaming up with different producers and songwriters, "A couple of people started to point out to me, 'Hey, Chanel, have you ever tried country? You kind of got a tone of voice for that genre.'"
As it turned out, she is a "Lil' Bit Country," as she sings in her latest release.
"I'm just a music lover," the Los Angeles native noted of the swerve. "I've listened to absolutely everything growing up, from rock to hip-hop to country. And so, for me, it was the natural evolution."
So she has no plans to hang up her cowboy hat just yet.
"All the new music I'm doing is very much country blues rock influenced, but there's also still that hip-hop flavor to it," Chanel explained. "There's a couple raps on some of the songs, but for the most part, it's all singing very much country blues."

And as an added bonus, her future superstar can sing along.
"Because she's in that phase right now where she's repeating everything," Chanel explained of Bowie. "She literally knows every word to 'Lil' Bit Country' because I've played it so much. And that's the part of me that wanted to start doing this. Not like I was the most ratchet rapper ever, but I had stuff that I was saying in my rap songs where I'm like, 'Oh my god, I would never want her to repeat that.'"
And save for the lyric "where I talk about popping a Coors Light," noted Chanel, "there's a little sass here and there, but I'm saying things, for the most part, that I feel comfortable with my baby listening to and repeating."
Though, for now, her toddler is focused on her own original masterpieces.

"She's been making up her own little songs," Chanel revealed of the 2-year-old. "She literally came out in the living room the other day and she's like, 'I got a poopy, poopy in my diaper.' It even sounded like a country song."
And if that means Bowie is ready to uh, let go of her habit of belting out Frozen lyrics, the situation certainly doesn't stink.
"She's going to be a little entertainer," Chanel raved. "She's very talented, very smart. We just want to see what she naturally goes into the most. But at this point, it's looking like she's going to take after Mommy and want to do music."
She certainly wouldn't be the first celebrity offspring to follow in her mom's footsteps. Check out the other famous kin who've launched their own successful careers.
