Police have identified the suicidal gunman who killed two people and wounded seven others when he opened fire at an Idaho In-N-Out.
Chad Williams, 24, went on a deadly rifle-wielding rampage at the In-N-Out Burger in Twin Falls on Saturday afternoon before killing himself with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police Chief Matthew Hicks said at a press conference Sunday.
Two people, including a heroic armed citizen and off-duty state trooper, “actively engaged” the shooter “by returning gunfire towards him,” Hicks told reporters.

Williams fired his rifle from outside the fast-food restaurant’s drive-thru. Kevin Bell Jr. via APWilliams acted alone, and his family has been fully cooperative in the investigation.
“Their hearts are also broken at this time,” Hicks said of Williams’s family.
A motive behind the shooting remains unknown.
