Three weeks have passed in the 2025 CFL season, and three teams remain undefeated (the Alouettes, Roughriders and Blue Bombers). The reigning-champion Argonauts are the only team sitting at 0-3. All four will be in action in Week 4, with Montreal, Saskatchewan and Winnipeg aiming to maintain perfection and Toronto hoping to snap its early season cold streak.
The Canada Day weekend slate begins with reigning West Division-champion Winnipeg hosting the Edmonton Elks (0-2) on Thursday. The 12-time Grey Cup-champion Blue Bombers look like title contenders once again in 2025 with receiver Keric Wheatfall and running back Matthew Peterson leading the offensive charge. Winnipeg has outscored opponents, 61-34, through two games.
On Friday, the Alouettes visit the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (0-2). Montreal has dominated out of the gates, scoring a CFL-high 105 points and maintaining a whopping +49 point differential. Coach Jason Maas, who led the Alouettes to a CFL-best 12-5-1 record in 2024, has QB Davis Alexander playing stellar football. The signal-caller completed 20 of 24 pass attempts for 254 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions last weekend against Edmonton. Alexander suffered a hamstring injury in that 38-28 win, but Maas hopes he can suit up this weekend.
On Saturday, the Roughriders host the BC Lions (1-2) in a West Division bout. Saskatchewan has won by seven points or fewer in three consecutive games, all of which have been high-scoring affairs (close to 60 points per game). Can the Roughriders keep winning ugly, or will BC mount an upset this weekend?
Closing out the Week 4 slate, the Argonauts will face the Redblacks (1-2) in what winless Toronto hopes will be a get-right game. The reigning champs have dealt with numerous injuries out of the gate, but it's impossible to count out a franchise with 19 Grey Cup titles. Look for the Argos to put on a show and finally get into the winning column to finish out the weekend.
