CFB insider shuts down ‘completely false’ Bill Belichick rumor amid Jordon Hudson drama

Bill Belichick's name has been swirling around plenty. Now, that's nothing new for the six-time Super Bowl-winning head coach who was long regarded as one of the best coaches in the NFL. 

However, now he is the head coach of the North Carolina football program in a new chapter in his career. Meanwhile, the headlines running rampant involve Belichick and his 24-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson. 

The Hudson storylines are far and wide, with her reportedly being banned from UNC facilities, although the university's statement said she is welcomed there and another report debunked such rumors of her being banned. 

With all of this taking place, some wondered if Belichick is focused on football. 

Well, Pete Thamel and Rece Davis discussed Belichick and Hudson during an episode of The College GameDay podcast, and Thamel shot down any such idea that Belichick is not interested in coaching. 

“Any notion that he is checked out or not working is just completely false. That guy is in the building pre-dawn, he's the last one there, he’s obsessed with football in the same way he was when he started as an NFL assistant like 50 years ago…Any hint or notion that he is going to walk away, that is just silly."

Belichick has been around the game of football for a long time, and all signs point to him still being fully invested in the game despite the drama circulating with Hudson. 

Some even mentioned that Belichick's immediate future with the program could be in jeopardy, although Stewart Mandel of The Athletic recommended "pumping the brakes" on that narrative. 

Furthermore, Thamel agreed, although he gave somewhat of a timeline on Belichick's time in Chapel Hill. 

“The clock’s ticking within some type of exit in a few years," Thamel said. 

It makes sense, especially with Belichick being 73 years old and the game of college football tiring out some other coaches. 

But, for now, the North Carolina coach appears all-in on the program despite all of the negative attention surrounding him.
