The Boston Celtics have decided to make yet another move around the margins heading into the 2025-26 campaign, as the storied franchise reportedly added ex-Phoenix Suns prospect Jalen Bridges on Friday.
Bridges made his mark on both ends of the floor for the Suns' G-League affiliate Valley Suns in 2024-25. Now, the undrafted forward will have a chance to impact winning for the 2024 NBA champions and support their 2024 Finals MVP Jaylen Brown in the wake of Jayson Tatum's unfortunate Achilles tear during the 2025 postseason.
"The Boston Celtics and Jalen Bridges have agreed to a deal, league sources told HoopsHype," HoopsHype's Michael Scotto shared via Twitter/X on Friday morning.
"Bridges will compete for a two-way spot in training camp. Bridges was a two-way player with the Phoenix Suns last season, appearing in eight NBA games."
The 24-year-old appeared in games at the NBA level sparingly for the Suns in 2024-25, averaging just 1.1 points on a horrid 28.6% field goal percentage. Fortunately for Bridges, he really began to show his true potential throughout his stint in the G-League.
While appearing in 31 contests for the Valley Suns, Bridges contributed a solid 14.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals while knocking down 38.6% of his 6.9 attempts from three-point range.

Bridges also competed in 10 games of the G-League's Tip-Off Tournament this past season, a stretch that saw the Baylor University product simultaneously bump his scoring average up to 16.2 points and his outside shot-making clip to a fantastic 39.7% on 7.8 attempts.
Standing at 6-foot-8, the forward has displayed clear two-way potential and a consistent three-point shooting stroke. As a result, he could be a perfect fit for a Celtics squad heavily dependent on versatility and jump-shooting production from their wings.
