The Boston Celtics are still clearly one of the better teams in the NBA. For an organization built on winning, losing in the second round in a series they were heavily favored in was very disappointing.
Unfortunately, that ended much worse when Jayson Tatum went down with a torn Achilles. The situation was as bad as it gets for the Celtics and could’ve drastically ruined their championship window.
Some have suggested that the team will move on from Jrue Holiday, Kristaps Porzingis, or others. In a recent prediction from The Ringer, they had the Celtics moving on from Derrick White, arguably the second-most-important player on the roster.
“White is 30, two years older than Brown and four years older than Tatum. His age doesn’t infringe on their timeline now, but eventually it will. Although White has outperformed the annual value of his contract, he’s still an expensive no. 3 option when considering the investment Boston has made in its top two players.
“If the Celtics can’t find landing spots for both Porzingis and Holiday, they may be forced to explore what is sure to be a frothy market for White,” The Ringer wrote.

If teams around the NBA don't want to take on Holiday or Porzingis’ contract, which might be possible given where both of them stand as players at this point in their careers, it could lead to somebody like White getting dealt.
However, it's important to remember that while the Celtics may struggle next year because of Tatum's injury, they'll eventually be elite again.
White is as good as it gets regarding a winning player, and would be loved in Boston for the next few years if they can keep him around.
