Celtics make final Jayson Tatum injury decision for Game 7 against 76ers

The Boston Celtics need to throw the kitchen sink for Game 7 against the Philadelphia 76ers. Coach Joe Mazzulla had the opportunity to close this series out two games prior but the schemes just were not effective. There was sufficient fear about a possible injury to Jayson Tatum but those concerns finally got answered in the report.

Tatum not in Celtics Game 7 injury report

The Celtics did not name anyone in their injury report heading into Game 7 against the 76ers. Notably, Jayson Tatum was expected to be on there. It also did not help that someone like Kendrick Perkins publicly advised Coach Joe Mazzulla to sit the Celtics' superstar out so that further injury could be prevented. But, the Celtics gave a final verdict whether or not fans like it.

It remains to be a question whether or not Coach Mazzulla puts Tatum on a minutes restriction because he was pulled out early in Game 6 after some apparent pain on his left leg. In fact, the Celtics needed to wrap Tatum's leg while he was sitting on the bench in the fourth quarter.

Regardless, Coach Mazzulla may have to rely on other wings so that Tatum could move comfortably on the floor. The Celtics need all of Jordan Walsh, Baylor Scheierman, Sam Hauser, and Jaylen Brown to pop off in order to stand a chance against the 76ers. But, this also would not stop Tatum from giving it his all in a Game 7. He has won five of seven Game 7s in his career and is at his best in a win-or-go-home situation.

Tatum averages 26.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 5.1 assists for all the Game 7s that he played with the Celtics. If this injury does not bother him at all, he will be doing great to save Coach Mazzulla's season from the 76ers.
