The Cleveland Cavaliers likely signaled the end of the Ty Jerome era on Saturday.
They traded for backup point guard Lonzo Ball from the Chicago Bulls. It wasn't clear the Cavs would be able to pay Jerome anyways in free agency, and now it seems almost impossible.
NBA insider Brett Siegel reported that Jerome could be looking at one of four teams. Two of them are East rivals of the Cavs: the Detroit Pistons and Orlando Magic.
He also links Jerome to the Houston Rockets and Sacramento Kings.
Coming off an incredible season, Jerome will likely want the mid-level exception total of $14.1 million, at least. He can probably ask for more.

Off the Cavs bench in 2024-25, Jerome averaged 12.5 points and 3.4 assists per game while shooting 43.9% from 3-point range.
It was an incredible renaissance for a guy who had missed basically the entire season before with a knee injury and who had never broken through in the NBA after being a collegiate star at Virginia.
Now, Jerome will be a sought-after free agent.
It's too bad the Cavs don't have room to keep him, but this appears to be the end of Jerome's cool Cleveland chapter.
