The Cleveland Charge just got a lot more intriguing.
That's the G League affiliate of the Cleveland Cavaliers, and they pulled off a fun trade on Friday.
The deal brings Victor Oladipo to the Charge from the Wisconsin Herd, where he has spent the entire G League season to this point.
Oladipo made two All-Star teams in the NBA before injury troubles upended his career.
The formerly high-flying Oladipo last played in the 2022-23 NBA season, when he tore his left patellar tendon while playing for the Heat in the playoffs.
He had starred prior to that with the Indiana Pacers.
The one-time Indiana Hoosiers great was chosen No. 2 overall in 2013.
His All-NBA 2017-18 season was followed by multiple knee injuries the following year, and his career since then has been bumpy.
Oladipo has played 15 games in the G League this season for the Herd (the affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks).
In that action, he has averaged 29.9 minutes per game with averages of 13.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.1 steals.
The negative has been in Oladipo's efficiency: He has shot just 38.9% from the floor and 32.9% from 3-point range.
He may not have a path back to the NBA, but fans in Cleveland who want to see Oladipo can go check out a Charge game.
