Carson Hocevar has addressed his Martinsville incident with future Spire Motorsports teammate Daniel Suarez. In an interview with Frontstretch, the No.77 driver shared that the two just 'laughed about it'.

Hocevar experienced a caution-filled race at Martinsville. He began the race straight down the middle at 15th, but got spun out by Suarez in Stage 2.

The two came together once again during the final stage, when Hocevar accidentally switched off his car and lost power steering, resulting in yet another spin that induced a caution. By race's end, Hocevar ended up three laps down at 31st, while Suarez finished a lap down at 22nd.

Hocevar shared a lighthearted account of their repeat run-ins, saying,

"There wasn't like a resolution. We just laughed about it. You know what I mean. My car, I was literally, just saw Daniel and my car shut off down the straightaway and like he just laughed. He's just like I thought you were brake checking. I was like, No, I had no power steering, I had no anything, so we just kind of laughed about it." [0:50 onwards] "I've watched the Brian Vickers 2011 video a lot, so I think that was the racing gods tell me I laughed at that video enough that it was my turn," he added.

Carson Hocevar has shown flashes of speed in his sophomore season with Spire Motorsports. With nine top-10s, two top-5s, and a solitary pole, the 22-year-old currently ranks 23nd on the driver standings, six spots ahead of Suarez in the No.99 Trackhouse Racing Chevy. His best result this year comes from a runner up finish at Echopark Speedway.

As for Suarez, he recently announced his 2026 drive with Spire Motorsports after parting ways with Trackhouse midway through the season. He'll replace the outgoing Justin Haley in the No.7 Chevy.
