A Louisiana high school football coach had planned to talk to his principal about the upcoming school year.
Instead, he received word that his services were no longer needed.
Marvin Williams, who had been the coach at Carroll High School located in Monroe, was relieved of his duties on Monday after having spent one season in that capacity. He spoke out on the dismissal in an interview with The Ouachita Citizen, noting that he found out about the news after meeting with Carroll principal Cassandra Shelling.

“Ultimately it came down to me not having enough kids out and that I used profanity.”
Williams added that he had approximately 45 players on the current roster.
A 1994 Carroll graduate, Williams had taken over as coach on an interim basis last July before being promoted on a full-time basis in February after leading the Bulldogs to a 5-4 season.
With Williams’ dismissal, Carroll will now be looking for its sixth head coach since 2022.
“I hate it. It’s like losing your kids,” Williams said in the interview. "If I got the opportunity, I would love to stick around and stay with the kids and support whoever gets it. I'll support them and wish them the best.
“I'm a Bulldog, and I want them to represent."
