Supernatural fans are mourning a beloved cast member.

Carrie Anne Fleming—known for her work as Karen Singer on the series—died “peacefully with her loved ones by her side” on February 26 following a diagnosis with breast cancer, her rep confirmed to People. She was 51.

“It was a great privilege to have known Carrie,” the spokesperson for the actress added in the March 22 statement. “She was a beautiful soul, inspiring, and above all, kind. She will be greatly missed."

After studying drama at the Kaleidoscope Theatre and the Kidco Theatre Dance Company in Victoria, British Columbia, per Variety, Carrie eventually secured small roles in Happy Gilmore and the 1994 series Viper. She found her niche in the horror genre when cast in the 2005 series Masters of Horror, where she played the titular character in the episode “Jennifer.”

Carrie also appeared in The Tooth Fairy and Bloodsuckers before being cast in Supernatural as the wife to Bobby Singer, played by Jim Beaver.

Following Carrie’s death, Jim penned a moving tribute to his late friend, detailing how they immediately connected and developed a deep bond on the set of the fantasy series.

Having realized their daughters shared the same name on the first day they met, Jim wrote in his Facebook tribute, “That, as also happens in the movies, was the beginning of a beautiful friendship. The electricity between us was practically visible.”

“She was a powerhouse of vitality and goodwill and amazingly good nature, with a rapturous laugh and an utterly adorable personality that didn't seem to have an off switch,” he added. “I was so in love I think my eyes turned silver.  She seemed to think I was worth hanging around with, too.”

Indeed, Jim wrote that while his and Carrie’s deep bond took a turn for the romantic, factors including her living in Canada and he in Southern California kept them “both physically and matrimonially apart.”

“She got me like only one other person really, truly ever has,” he continued. “Except for my love for her, I'm not sure if I would have been good for her.  But she was terribly good for me.”

Jim likened the loss of Carrie to that of his first wife, Cecily, writing, “I never thought my heart could break so badly more than once.  But it has.  But, oh, the two torches I carry—what bright, bright light they shed.”

In addition to her work in Supernatural, Carrie also had a recurring role as Candy Baker on five seasons of iZombie.

She is survived by her daughter Madalyn Rose.
