The heartbroken friend of a Texas mom of five hacked to death in the street by two maniac sisters spoke of her anguish Wednesday as she prepares to say a final goodbye – and vowed she will not stop fighting until justice is served.
“Taking a deep breath and preparing my heart to see you one last time. Missing you is a heavy kind of love!” Christina Salinas said, almost a week after Caroline Peña, 32, was allegedly murdered in broad daylight by Kitty Mia Diaz, 21, Amaya Cookie Diaz, 19, and their deranged pal.
“I know today at work it’s going to kill me all day thinking in just hours I’ll face reality. I love you. This week has been one of the hardest ones in my life.”
Salinas said she’s “truly honored” to deliver a reading at Peña’s memorial service, which will take place in Del Rio — a small Texas city near the Mexican border.
“I’m so glad your family picked me and gave [me] the opportunity,” she said.
“Your [sic] gone but never will you be forgotten. I promise I’ll try my hardest to stay strong.”
In another emotional post, Salinas shared a throwback snap of the two riding in the car – and vowed “I promise you that I’m not going to stop till we get justice.”
Peña was allegedly knifed by Cookie last Thursday – with blood soaking the shirt she was wearing, according to a criminal complaint obtained by The Post.
She was stabbed twice in the back and once in the stomach.
“One of the stab wounds ended up puncturing her lungs, which was the fatal cause,” a friend, known only as Tina, told KENS.
Peña was allegedly attacked by Kitty and the Diazes pal Kyandra Renee Faz, 21, after being stabbed — before they fled, according to the criminal complaint.
But Faz claimed Peña turned up at her home “looking to start a fight.”
The mom – who had two children with special needs – was rushed to a local hospital and then airlifted to San Antonio, where she later died.
“All five will carry this loss for the rest of their lives,” relatives said, describing the impact her killing will have on her children.
The twisted siblings were arrested around two hours after the attack — and Kitty grinned when she was being hauled into a cop car.
Cookie also seemed to put on a show — flashing her pearly white teeth and sarcastically yelling ‘Stop recording’ to a man behind the camera.
Peña knew her accused killers, Del Rio Police Chief Frank Ramirez said, without divulging any further details.
Police have not yet offered a motive for the alleged attack, which remains under investigation, a department spokesperson told The Post.
But cops suspect the vicious killing was far from a random act of violence.
