Carole Radziwill revealed her ex auditioned to play her late husband, Anthony Radziwill, in Ryan Murphy’s FX series “Love Story.”

The journalist, who was married to John F. Kennedy Jr.’s cousin, told the New York Times in an interview published Thursday that her unnamed ex also called her to request recordings of Anthony so he could perfect the role.

She recalled briefly dating the man a few years before, explaining how the call was unexpected and shocked her.

The role ultimately went to actor Erich Bergen, who stars alongside Paul Anthony Kelly as JFK Jr., and Sarah Pidgeon as Carolyn Bessette. Bergen and Carole didn’t date.

The series recounts Kennedy Jr. and Bessette’s relationship from when they met to when they married in 1996 and tragically died in a plane crash in 1999.

Anthony, meanwhile, died after a battle with cancer in 1999, just three weeks after his cousin and the publicist. He was 40 years old.

The TV exec and Carole, now 62, tied the knot in 1994, and Kennedy Jr. was the best man.

Carole reassured the NYT that she hasn’t watched “Love Story” since the series premiered in February.

The “Real Housewives of New York City” alum wasn’t featured in the show, which concludes with its finale on Thursday night.

However, Carole has previously defended her family against critics speaking out against them, telling the outlet, “Defending Carolyn and talking about my husband was a hill I was going to die on.”

“But honestly, I didn’t think that 25 years later, it would become a mountain.”

The TV personality recalled meeting Bessette in 1992, explaining that they had “a lot in common in the weirdest ways” and how the latter was “her rock” when Anthony was undergoing treatment.

“She was there for me all the time,” Carole said.

“Love Story” has been heavily critiqued by friends and members of the Kennedy family, including Kennedy Jr.’s nephew Jack Schlossberg.

“If you want to know someone who’s never met anyone in my family, knows nothing about us, talk to Ryan Murphy,” he said on “CBS Sunday Morning” earlier this month, before blasting the producer for profiting off his family.

The “Love Story” finale airs Thursday (9 p.m. ET) on FX on Hulu.
