Ohio State will be without one of its top wide receivers when it faces UCLA on Saturday evening.
Carnell Tate, the Buckeyes' second-leading receiver, is set to miss his second straight game. The junior was sidelined by injury last week, and a week of rest hasn’t eased his ailment—though he isn’t expected to miss much more time.
Carnell Tate injury update
Tate was ruled out Saturday's game vs. the Bruins with an undisclosed injury, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel. The issue springs from an ailment suffered during last week's game against Purdue. Per Thamel, the issue emerged during warmups last week. It isn't considered too serious, with Tate expected to return to action before long.
Tate is dealing with a calf injury, per On3's Pete Nakos.
The junior pass-catcher is the Buckeyes' second-leading receiver, fielding 39 catches for 711 yards and seven scores in eight games. He's proven one of the country's best speed threats, averaging more than 18 yards a catch.
