Tyler Henry Tells Carmen Electra Details of Sister's Mystery Death
You don’t have to put Carmen Electra in a full court press for details on her Dennis Rodman romance.
Nearly 30 years after the Scary Movie actress and NBA star divorced following their whirlwind, six-month marriage, she admitted that while she loved him, it was “just too hard to continue.”
“I just remember looking at myself in the mirror, I was at home and I didn’t recognize myself,” Electra admitted during a May 26 appearance on the Legally Goff podcast. “I had bags under my eyes. My face was puffy. And I’m in my 20s, and I thought like, ‘It’s got to stop.’ It has to stop.”
The now-54-year-old admitted she got introspective when it came to finally deciding to call it quits with Rodman, now 65.
“I would just walk in a bookstore and kind of blindly go, ‘OK, guide me and take me and take me for what I need to know,’” she recalled. “I’d grab another book and I’d just start sitting there and I just thought, ‘I’ve got to get away from him because what good is going to come out of this?’”
But while the couple split in 1999, Electra assured it was not an easy decision.
“It wasn’t a made up story,” she added. “It wasn’t a publicity stunt. It was real love and it’s sad but it had to end.”
Indeed, Electra noted that she was “crazy in love” with Rodman—whom she married only months after meeting in 1998 while he was playing for the Chicago Bulls.
“He was always the pied piper of the party,” she noted. “Everyone followed Dennis. You can just imagine him marching and he’s so tall with his colored hair and he was fun. I really loved the days in Chicago. We had a lot of fun together, that was my favorite part of being around Dennis.”

As for what it was like being in the basketball star’s inner circle? For Electra, what you see is what you get.
“I feel like you get to see all sides of Dennis,” she said. “He definitely shows everything. He cries on TV, ‘poor me,’ he cries those tears and then he’s just so loving and then he’s wild and then he’s drinking.”
As she put it, “I feel like the world knows who Dennis is by now.”
