Carlos Mendoza sends Juan Soto surprising message after rough game

Juan Soto recently signed one of the biggest contracts in MLB history to join the team with the best record at home and the best record period in the MLB this season. 

Although the Mets have enjoyed plenty of success to start this season, Soto is still under the microscope that the big payday and New York market mandates. 

"Yesterday is a perfect example [of why Soto will be fine]," Manager Carlos said on Wednesday. "He went 0-for-3 and he hit two balls over 100 miles-per-hour, one of them the other way. Gets a walk."

"He's giving quality at-bats… those are some good signs. He'll be alright."

Time will tell if Soto is able to figure things out offensively — the superstar is slashing just .250/.374/.398 this season and has struggled to find a groove offensively. 

He’s still been good, of course, but has had issues finding his usual MLB-caliber form.

Soto’s teammate superstar Francisco Lindor also chimed in with some encouraging words for the outfielder. 

"[We have the same] ultimate goal, which is winning, and he’s been fantastic. He’s the guy that has been the same person from Day 1. I appreciate the way he has gone about it. I appreciate that he’s not trying to do anything extra, and he had one year already in New York; he understands how this is.” Lindor said. 

"But you just have to make him feel like this is his home. This truly is his house. He is going to be here for a very long time,"
