Being on the West Coast in the NFL is never easy, especially when it comes to the demanding travel schedule it imposes. Last season, the Cardinals traveled a total of 21,064 miles, ranking 13th in the league for most miles traveled.
This season isn’t much different for Arizona. According to Bill Speros, the Cardinals are set to travel 20,336 miles, placing them 12th in the NFL in total travel distance. Despite covering a significant distance, they remain the least-traveled team in the NFC West by a considerable margin. The Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers, and Seattle Seahawks all rank in the top five for most miles traveled this year.
At one point in the season, the Cardinals will have to make a cross-country trip to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers—a notoriously long and grueling flight. Arizona will also travel to Texas twice during the regular season. The team is hoping the NFL will schedule those games in consecutive weeks, allowing them to remain in the region and avoid unnecessary back-and-forth travel.
While the travel schedule is far from ideal, Arizona does benefit from one of the easier slates in the NFL.
“The combine record for the following opponent was 132-157 last year, 27th in the NFL in terms of strength of schedule in 2025. The Cardinals are tied with Carolina Panthers with a .457 winning percentage for their opponents next year,” Tanner Tortorella wrote.
The Cardinals have the easiest path in their division, but it all depends on whether they show up ready to play. The future looks promising for Arizona. The addition of Will Johnson could very well be the steal of the draft down the line. With the NFL schedule officially being released on Wednesday, the Cardinals are eager to see what the season holds.
