Cardi B makes rare comment about rumored romance with Maduka Okoye

Cardi B shared a major hint following romance rumors with Nigerian goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye.

The Grammy-winning rapper was spotted with Okoye during Paris Fashion Week and shared in an interview with Vogue Arabia how it was connecting with him at the event.

“He was really sweet. When you see him on social media, he looks very strict, stern, but he is very kind,” said Cardi.

She was later asked if she has plans to see "more" of him, which made the rapper giggle as she responded, "I hope so.”

Cardi and Okoye were seen on various occasions in Paris following their viral meet-up at the Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture last month. The Nigerian footballer was seen helping Cardi into her seat.

The video began making rounds on the internet, which followed another of the two laughing together on a Paris balcony, furthering the speculation of a potential romance between them.

While neither party confirmed nor denied that they were dating or simply getting to know each other romantically, many people online began sharing their opinions on the rapper's dating life given that she was recently in a relationship with NFL star Stefon Diggs. The two welcomed a baby together in November 2025 but have seemingly been on and off again since February 2026. 

The rumors between her and Okoye did get a reaction from Cardi, who shared how the internet is focused on her relationship status. 

“I've been seeing some suggestions, and y'all be like, ‘Oh, I want her to be single. I want her to be focused on herself. I want her to be this.’ B***h, I'm not going to be single for the rest of my life,” Cardi said during an X Spaces session last month. “I was single throughout my whole [Little Miss Drama] tour. Single, not talking to nobody, not entertaining nobody, not anything.”

She continued, “But even me and my friends—even when we have a ball, we need some entertainment … Life is cool. Life is everything. But it's just like, all right, the p***y needs love too, okay?”

While Cardi has been vocal about her love life, Okoye has yet to respond publicly on the matter at this time.
