Political commentator Candace Owens escalated her criticism of the Charlie Kirk-founded nonprofit Turning Point USA (TPUSA) in the November 13, 2025, episode of her podcast. During the episode, Owens outlined what she described as ten “verifiable lies” allegedly spread by the organization in the aftermath of Charlie Kirk’s assassination.
She first told her audience she would not back down from discussing the matter, saying she felt she was “getting very close” to the truth, a closeness she claimed was angering people within the organization.
“And we should recap very quickly the verifiable lies that we have thus far been told, uh, by Turning Point USA themselves, which apparently they’re trying to say is off limits,” Candace Owens added.Owens then introduced her list of “verifiable lies,” stressing that the examples she was about to share were neither exhaustive nor “definitive,” and that she was “just getting this together briefly.”
The first lie she highlighted concerned what she described as an embellished account of a key figure at the scene. She claimed TPUSA pushed a narrative portraying chief of staff Mikey McCoy as being covered in blood, a detail she insisted was fabricated.
“The amazing, heroic, magnificent Mikey McCoy had blood all over him. That’s a lie told by Pastor Rob McCoy,” Candace Owens said. The second “verifiable lie,” she said, involved portraying Charlie Kirk as a “committed evangelical” who simply appreciated “Catholic architecture.” Owens argued that this characterization was misleading and attributed it to podcast host Alex Clark and Andrew Kolvet, the executive producer of The Charlie Kirk Show.
The third lie, she continued, centered on a bizarre narrative framing Kirk’s death as a “modern-day Christian miracle,” with claims that “Charlie’s neck stopped a 30-06 bullet because Charlie ate salad” and had “strong bones.” Owens criticized this attempt to mythologize the incident and attributed the claim to Kolvet.
The fourth lie Owens challenged was a narrative about Kirk’s political stance.
“Charlie never blinked in his support for Israel. Offender Josh Hammer, Bibi Netanyahu… many Zionist, Christian Zionist influencers as well. That turned out to be a big lie, an unnecessary lie,” Candace Owens stated. What else did Candace Owens say about the “verifiable lies” that TPUSA allegedly spread after Charlie Kirk’s assassination?

The fifth lie she revisited concerned a false narrative about Kirk’s family.
Owens said a claim had circulated suggesting that Mikey McCoy first contacted his father during the crisis, a detail she argued was untrue and intentionally misleading.
“Lie number five, the magnificent Mikey McCoy called his dad first. That’s a lie. Rob McCoy told that lie,” Candace Owens said.Owens then turned her attention to Terryl Farnsworth, an audio-visual staff member who had worked closely with Charlie Kirk.
She stated that the sixth verifiable lie involved TPUSA’s suggestion that Farnsworth had removed cameras at the direction of police. Owens argued this narrative was inconsistent with the video footage she reviewed.
According to her, the footage of Farnsworth, who had previously been criticized for appearing to film himself rather than assisting the injured Kirk, did not support the claim that law enforcement instructed him to remove equipment.
“Number six is Terryl, the AV guy… (he) was told to remove the cameras by police. That’s not true. I have every second of his moves. That offender would be Tyler Bowyer. Okay, he lied,” Candace Owens said. The seventh lie Owens highlighted, which she attributed to Andrew Kolvet, concerned the assertion that Farnsworth had moved SD cards because people were allegedly stealing them.
Owens questioned the logic of this explanation, pointing out that if theft were the concern, removing “very expensive cameras” would make far more sense than relocating relatively inexpensive SD cards.
“What are they going to do with your SD card? They’re going to resell that? Like, that doesn’t make sense. Those are pretty cheap, right?” she asked.Owens then described what she called “lie number eight,” involving a claim, spread by Alex Clark, that there was “no bad blood” between Ben Shapiro and Charlie Kirk. She argued this was “propaganda,” insisting the characterization was “not factually true.”
The ninth lie Owens rejected involved assertions that Charlie Kirk had established Doge and that TPUSA’s annual financial audits proved nothing unusual. She countered that although Turning Point underwent yearly audits, Doge’s structure was “entirely different” from the internal processes of a 501(c)(3) organization.
The final lie she addressed was the claim that Mikey McCoy had been a “hero” on the day of Kirk’s assassination.
Owens said that while heroism can be subjective, the label felt exaggerated given the actions she reviewed, including the fact that McCoy reportedly failed to call 911 among his initial quick calls. She argued that presenting him as unequivocally heroic was misleading, which is why she included it on her “list of lies.”
Charlie Kirk was fatally shot in the neck on September 10, 2025, at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. The following day, 22-year-old Tyler James Robinson was arrested as the primary suspect.
Meanwhile, Candace Owens remains focused on her Candace podcast, where she continues to weigh in on politics, current events, etc.
