Curling continues to be must watch at the Winter Games. Through the round-robin tournament, the women's curling teams showed just how exciting the sport can be.
With the round-robin portion of the event in the rearview, four teams remain alive in the playoffs. The semifinal matches will both be held on Friday, February 19 as Canada faces Sweden and the United States faces Switzerland. The winners will continue on to the gold medal game on Sunday, while the losers will meet in the bronze medal game on Saturday.

The round-robin format at the start of the event saw every team play every other team to determine playoff standings. Canada and Sweden matched up on Tuesday, February 17, and Canada came away with the 8-6 victory.
Sweden was able to notch a point in the ninth end to tie the score at six points apiece. Canada then scored two points in the 10th for the win. Now, none of the round-robin results matter, and all that matters is the result of the semifinal matchup.
Women's curling has been played at the Olympics since 1998. Canada won the first-ever women's curling event in 1998, but Sweden has taken three gold medals since then, in 2006, 2010 and 2018.
The Sporting News is tracking live updates from Friday's semifinal matchup between Canada and Sweden.
