Can you pause Black Ops 7 campaign?

After some wait, the highly anticipated Black Ops 7 campaign is finally out. With that, players can now dive into what Treyarch and Raven Software have prepared. Since the campaign features a Co-Op mode, you will be teamed up with randoms. Alternatively, you can also tackle the missions with a premade party. Hence, you might wonder if you can pause the Black Ops 7 campaign or not.

Unfortunately, you cannot pause the Black Ops 7 campaign in the middle of a mission. This article further discusses the matter.

Why you can’t pause the Black Ops 7 campaign, explored

For the first time, the Black Ops 7 campaign features a multiplayer mode, allowing you to team up before each mission and tackle the challenges together. The full campaign takes roughly 4-5 hours to complete. Hence, you might want to pause it.

Since you cannot pause Black Ops 7’s campaign, you must finish the mission first before you take a break. If you quit a campaign quest before completing it, your progress will be lost, and you will need to start over.

Moreover, if you think you can pause a mission while playing solo, you are quite wrong. The campaign cannot be paused regardless of the mode you are playing, be it solo or Co-Op.

Should players be allowed to pause Black Ops 7 campaign?

Call of Duty Black Ops 7’s campaign features 11 missions. While it's somewhat troublesome that you cannot pause it, the developers might have done so because it ruins the immersion/experience. Although there are quite a few missions, not every single one is that lengthy. Hence, if you need to take a break, you can easily do so after finishing a mission.

That said, not being able to pause the game during the campaign missions is quite inconvenient for some. Hence, players should be allowed to do so. The developers can add a feature that will stop the game for every player whenever one of the party members pauses it. However, it's highly unlikely that the devs will add it.
