The Buffalo Bills moved on from Sean McDermott after multiple playoff failures, and now it is Joe Brady's turn to try to cash in on Josh Allen's prime.
This offseason, the franchise added D.J. Moore, along with Bradley Chubb, not to mention the draft with T.J. Parker on defense and Skylar Bell on offense. There's every reason to think Buffalo will again be at the pointy end of the Super Bowl conversation.
But then again, most thought that last season, and the season before. However, with so many changes, is this the year the Bills and Allen finally get it done?
For CBS Sports' Bryan DeArdo, a reason for hope is the new weapons Allen has around him.
“In Allen, the Bills continue to have one of the league's best players,” DeArdo writes. “This offseason, the Bills helped Allen by acquiring veteran receiver DJ Moore from Chicago. Buffalo then spent a fourth-round draft pick on fellow wideout Skyler Bell, who caught a whopping 101 passes for 1,278 yards and 13 touchdowns last season while playing for Connecticut.
“Buffalo embarks on its 2026 campaign with Joe Brady as its new coach. Can the offensive-minded Brady get Allen over the playoff hump?”

Allen in unwinnable position
Allen and the Bills are in a position not too many other teams are, maybe Baltimore, and that is no one cares what they do in the regular season.
The Bills could be 15-2 heading into the playoffs, but no one will care because all that matters is how the team fares in the playoffs, and in truth, anything other than a Super Bowl appearance is a failed season.
That is the level of expectation for Allen and the Bills, which is tough, because the regular season means nothing to most, but it is important to set yourself up for a Super Bowl run.
Entering the 2026 season, it's all on Allen's shoulders after he got a new weapon in Moore, plus another rookie to fill out the depth chart, and he should have a defense that could be as good as last season, if not better.
It might seem unfair to say that Allen's regular season means nothing, but after being so good in the regular season for so long, yet having multiple playoff failures, that's the end result.
