The Tennessee Titans continue searching for answers following another disappointing offensive performance, but head coach Robert Saleh isn't ready to abandon quarterback Cam Ward.

Despite Tennessee's embarrassing 26-3 loss to the Houston Texans on Sunday, Saleh confirmed that Ward will remain the team's starting quarterback as the Titans dropped to 0-5.

"Cam's our starting quarterback," Saleh said. "We're going to give him every opportunity to be successful this year, and we're going to continue working with him, grinding with him and trying to help him get better."

Ward completed 23 of 36 passes for 170 yards and one interception against Houston. Tennessee struggled to generate explosive plays, continuing a troubling trend that has plagued its offense throughout the season.

The Titans currently rank last in the NFL in total offense, averaging just 246.4 yards and 14 points per game.

Even more concerning is Ward's inability to consistently attack defenses downfield.

The former No. 1 overall pick averaged only 2.9 air yards per completion against Houston, connecting on just two passes traveling at least 10 yards.

Since entering the NFL, Ward has completed only 39.6% of his throws beyond 10 yards, the league's lowest percentage during that span.

Cam Ward Remains Confident Despite Titans' Struggles

While criticism continues mounting, Ward believes his preparation and commitment will eventually produce results.

"I know I'm capable of this position," Ward said. "I have the right guys around me to uplift me and myself uplift them, and we're going to put it together eventually."

Tennessee's problems extend beyond its young quarterback. The Titans have now lost 11 consecutive AFC South games, the NFL's longest active divisional losing streak.

Saleh's decision demonstrates confidence in Ward's long-term development, but patience could become increasingly difficult as losses accumulate.

For Tennessee, the challenge isn't simply protecting its franchise quarterback. It's building an offense capable of competing consistently.

Unless significant improvements arrive soon, the Titans could face another frustrating season filled with questions about their future.
