Cam Newton’s big brood is nearing double digits.
The retired NFL quarterback is the father of eight children, with news breaking in May 2025 that he has a ninth on the way.
Notably, within his brood are some of his partner’s kids from previous romances.
“I proudly say I have 8 children. Six biologically through me. And I don’t believe in stepchildren,” the former Carolina Panthers player clarified in April 2024. “What my biological kids get, everybody gets.
“I don’t have no favorites,” Newton continued in the “Club Shay Shay” interview. “I’m raising kings and queens.”

Chosen Sebastian Newton

In December 2015, Newton became a father when his then-girlfriend, Kia Proctor, gave birth to son Chosen Sebastian.
“My longtime girlfriend and I were extremely blessed to have a son last week,” Newton tweeted at the time. “Our family is excited, and thank you all for the well wishes!”
The following month, he explained to the Charlotte Observer that he chose the infant’s name to be “masculine” and “unique.”
Sovereign-Dior Cambella Newton
Newton and Proctor welcomed daughter Sovereign-Dior Cambella in February 2017.
The former New England Patriots player waited two months to reveal the newborn’s name via Instagram while sharing her first photo.
In the sweet — and since-deleted — snap, Newton held his baby girl and smiled down at her.
Camidas Swain Newton
In July 2018, Camidas Swain arrived.
“Welcome to the world, baby boy,” Proctor captioned a black-and-white maternity shoot photo at the time, alongside a blue heart emoji.
She gave the first glimpse of Camidas’ face in a slideshow four months later.
Cashmere Saint Newton
The couple’s fourth child, son Cashmere Saint, was born in September 2019.
The following year, however, Newton and Proctor called it quits over him fathering a child with photographer LaReina Shaw.
In 2024, Proctor told her YouTube subscribers that their kids are doing “great,” thanks to “a great co-parenting schedule” of “a week on, a week off” — but admitted this was a “work in progress.”
Shakira
Proctor welcomed a daughter named Shakira in February 2007, six years prior to her and Newton’s relationship.
The professional football player called Shakira his “first child … in retrospect” in a since-deleted Instagram post in 2017.
“Your mom and I are not married, but no one can tell you that I’m not your father and they damn sure can’t tell me that you’re not my daughter,” he wrote.
Caesar Lorenzo Newton
Newton and Shaw welcomed son Caesar Lorenzo in July 2019, while he was in a relationship with Proctor.
While honoring the little one’s 4th birthday in 2023, he wrote, “I have grown so much with you being here on this earth and I am constantly reminded by what my PURPOSE, discipline, & DRIVE is.”
Newton has addressed his infidelity multiple times since Caesar’s birth, calling his cheating in a 2022 “Pivot” podcast episode a “humanistic mistake” that “hurt” Proctor.
On “Special Forces” in February 2025, he admitted, “My relationship with my oldest daughter suffered, and is suffering from that. Daddy cheated on my mommy. … It’s important for me to be accountable.”
Jaden
Before Caesar’s arrival, Shaw gave birth to son Jaden.
Her baby boy arrived in February 2006, and Newton considers him a son of his own.
Newton, who left his NFL career in 2022, confessed on “Special Forces” in January 2025 that it “hurts” him not to be able to provide as much for his children as he used to.
Baby girl with Jasmin Brown
Brown began dating Newton in 2022 and referred to herself as “Baby Momma 3” while announcing her pregnancy via Instagram in October of the following year.
“Third times (sic) a charm tour 😉,” the comedian wrote in 2023. “coming to a comedy stage near you.”
Brown gave birth in March 2024 but has yet to publicly share their daughter’s name.
She did post a touching tribute to the toddler in February 2025, gushing, “You spice up my life and give me a reason to keep evolving and bettering myself because I know you are watching me with those big sweet eyes that stare into my soul everyday. Your laugh makes any stress I may feel just melt away.”
Another on the way
Brown debuted her baby bump on social media while celebrating Mother’s Day in May 2025.
“Feeling ALL the Love, kicks and elbows 🤣🥰,” she captioned the upload. “cheers to our growing tribe.”
In the sweet snap, Brown cradled her bare belly while wearing only a white bathrobe and necklace.
