California tech exec reveals major hurdle men must pass before dating her

A San Franciso-based tech executive who went viral for laying out her ultra-specific list of dating “non-negotiables” has added one more hurdle for prospective suitors — getting mom’s seal of approval.

Brooke LeBlanc, an executive at tech company Corgi, sparked a social-media frenzy after asking X to help her find the man of her dreams.

“Who wants to cofound the rest of my life with me?” she wrote, before unveiling her lengthy list of requirements. 

But now it appears prospective candidates have another person to impress — and she may be the toughest interviewer of them all.

“Foot note: You will now also have to get my mom’s approval as she’s reading replies and sending me ‘which ones are cute’,” LeBlanc wrote.

She shared the update alongside a screenshot of a text from her mother, who appeared to have already found one potential contender worth flagging.

“Babe- idk what the hell you are stirring up today, but this guy is seems [sic] smart, funny and cute! 🥳 even though my twitter acct was hacked, I’m getting some of your feed rolling up about ‘post economic’ banter!! Haha! Love you sweetie!!” her mom wrote.

The man in question was David Stehle, whose X profile describes him as a “Network Security Consultant (Founder & CEO) | Rusty Writer,” a “BFF to a Bulldog” and a builder working on a “#modern” project.

So what exactly does a man have to do to make the cut? Her non-negotiables include a man between 35 and 42 years old, “healthy masculine,” smart, funny and lighthearted.

He must have a “provider/protector mentality” and be “post economic (still hardworking),” while also being kind, generous and thoughtful.

Children are another major box to check: He must have no kids yet but “decidedly” want kids. And emotional self-improvement is apparently mandatory.

LeBlanc said her ideal partner should be “on the healing path,” with a history of serious commitment that could include therapy, books or retreats.

There is also a long-distance rule: Potential suitors can meet her anywhere, but she “will not date unless live in the same city.”

And the prospective Mr. Right needs to be fit and sober because, according to the checklist, “you care about your health.”

Then come the strongly preferred extras.

LeBlanc would rather her dream man have no previous marriages or engagements and, naturally, work in tech — someone comfortable with risk and whose career is “blended into personal life.”

The checklist has already drawn plenty of attention online, with commenters poking fun at both the requirements and the famously complicated San Francisco dating scene. 

One person wrote, “I can’t imagine anything worse than being single and dating in SF,” while another quipped, “Lol. I thought this was AI slop. Sad to find out it’s real.”

While some men online have taken offense to LeBlanc’s real but apparently lighthearted list, women have shown support.

“If a decent-looking, ambitious guy said he had a certain checklist for dating, people wouldn’t blink. I’d think about that,” Julia Gurner wrote on X. “I hope *everyone* has standards for who they date.”
