Caleb Williams gets bold prediction from ESPN that Bears fans would love to see come true

The Chicago Bears had a magical 2025 season, winning the NFC North for the first time in a while, and seeing Caleb Williams mesh very well with Ben Johnson.

It was a productive season, but there's room to grow for the Bears as a team when it comes to winning more games in the playoffs, and for Williams as a player.

ESPN's Matt Bowen made a prediction for Williams heading into the 2026 season, and it's a bold one that Bears fans would love to see come true.

Caleb Williams' prediction would be a dream outcome for Bears fans

"Caleb Williams will win the NFL MVP award," Bowen predicts. "... with another offseason to develop in Johnson's system, the Bears QB is primed to play at a high level in 2026. Plus, he has a versatile and explosive group of pass catchers. The arrow is pointing up on Williams - and Johnson's playcalling."

Williams being predicted to win the NFL MVP is a very bold prediction from Bowen. The first-overall pick from the 2024 NFL Draft is heading into year three and hasn't even made a Pro Bowl yet.

He's started all 17 games in both seasons of his career, but after a just okay rookie season, Williams took the lead and had a good sophomore season.

He threw for 3,942 passing yards, 27 touchdowns, and seven interceptions on a 58.1 completion percentage. Most importantly, he took just 24 sacks, far fewer than the 68 he took a year ago.

If Williams can maintain his low sack rate and keep his interception count under double digits, he will have the basic makings of a strong third year in the NFL.

With Johnson and Williams getting a full offseason together, it wouldn't be a surprise if the Bears quarterback took the leap and became an MVP candidate.

This prediction from Bowen is a bold one, but it's also not too far-fetched that seeing Williams win the MVP after the 2026 season would be a total shocker. He has that potential, and with another year under Johnson, it's possible to win the MVP in 2026.
