Sophia Hutchins’ Death: Police Reveal New Details About Fatal Crash
Sophia Hutchins has come to her final resting place.
The longtime friend and manager of Caitlyn Jenner was laid to rest at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Culver City, Calif., following her tragic death in an ATV crash July 2, according to documents obtained by TMZ.
As for an official cause of death, the matter has been deferred, per the outlet’s documents.
E! News has reached out to the Los Angeles Police Department and the Medical Examiner’s Office for comment but has not heard back.
In the moments before the fatal accident, Hutchins, 29, rear-ended a 2016 Mazda sedan while driving a 2013 Polaris four-wheeler before falling off a 350-foot cliff in Malibu, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department told the Daily Mail.
“It doesn't seem like she was following them,” Malibu/Lost Hills Sergeant Eduardo Saucedo explained in an interview published July 5, noting that two uninjured women were in the sedan. “I think she just came up on them and then hit the car.”
“It looked like she tried to maneuver to go around it,” he went on, “but she was going too fast and just ended up clipping the rear end of that Mazda, causing her to veer off and go off the cliff there.”

As of July 5, the ATV remained in the ravine it plummeted towards, as Saucedo noted that the “tow company didn't have a line that was long enough to attach it and pull it up.”
Days after Hutchins’ death, Jenner—who befriended the Pepperdine University graduate a decade ago—told the Daily Mail the Olympian was facing “tough times,” but didn’t comment further on the matter. She has previously shared insight into their tight bond.
“Over the last few years, Sophia has been my best friend, family and confidant,” the 75-year-old told the New York Times in 2019. "She is one of the top minds in her field. Her value in my life is undeniable. The sky is the limit with her entrepreneurial spirit.”
