Caitlin Clark snaps legendary streak that had lasted 1,225 days from Iowa to Fever

Caitlin Clark did something for the first time in 1,225 days.

Maybe more accurately, the Iowa legend and Indiana Fever superstar didn't do something for the first time in more than three years.

On Thursday night, as the Fever defeated the Atlanta Dream, Clark shot 0-for-5 from 3-point range.

It snapped a streak of 42 consecutive games to open her WNBA career in which she had made at least one 3-pointer.

Even more remarkably, according to ESPN, Clark hadn't been shutout from 3 since Jan. 13, 2022, when she was a sophomore with the Hawkeyes.

That's pretty mind-blowing.

Clark is known for her deep 3s, yes, but to not have one night where a few shots don't fall or a defense guards out extra tightly?

The generational talent has extraordinary vision and great finishing ability inside. She doesn't need to rely on the 3.

It's just one weapon in her arsenal, but it usually shows up. Clark is incredibly consistent for a young player, and that's a huge quality for the Fever. It's also mentally key on a night like Thursday when Clark couldn't buy an outside shot and finished with just 11 points.

At this point, there's only one thing Clark can do: Start a new streak.
