Caitlin Clark encountered yet another injury during the Indiana Fever's 85-77 victory over the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday. Fever coach Stephanie White said that Clark experienced discomfort in her groin and will undergo further assessment to determine the severity of the injury.

"Just felt a little something in her groin, so we'll get it evaluated and see what happens from there," White told reporters.

The incident happened after Clark delivered an excellent backdoor assist to Kelsey Mitchell to ice the game with a little over 30 seconds left. Clark halted in discomfort, clutching her inner thigh. She limped down the court and hit her head against the stanchion, visibly distressed and seemingly on the verge of tears.

She left the game shortly after and was checked on by her teammates. Clark finished with 14 points over 28 minutes.

Caitlin Clark had missed five games due to a strain in her left groin. It appeared she may have now injured her right groin against the Connecticut Sun, and it is uncertain whether this latest injury will require her to be sidelined for an extended period once again.

Stephanie White speaks out on physicality against Caitlin Clark

Indiana Fever coach Stephanie White was asked about the physicality Caitlin Clark endures on a nightly basis. While careful not to risk another fine for criticizing officials, White expressed her confusion over why Clark continues to be targeted so frequently by opponents.

"There's a level of physicality that they're able to play with against her," White said. "I'm not exactly sure why, but it is what it is and we've got to help her learn to adjust and use it against them in certain ways. The level of physicality overall in our league has been at a different level than it's been for a long time."

Meanwhile, the Fever are set to face the New York Liberty on Wednesday in the second game of a back-to-back. Clark is unlikely to play as the team is still awaiting an update on the extent of her injury.
