The Knicks are looking to regain home-court advantage in their first-round series against the Pistons with a win Thursday night.

If they want to avoid a disappointing upset, they’re going to need to slow down Detroit’s feisty point guard Dennis Schroder.

Knicks vs. Pistons Game 3 prediction

Schroder, who was traded to Detroit from the Golden State Warriors at the NBA trade deadline, dropped 20 points in Game 2 off the bench, the second-most on the Pistons behind Cade Cunningham’s 33 points.

The veteran took advantage of favorable match-ups against Jalen Brunson and Miles McBride, going 6-of-10 from the field, including 3-of-5 from deep, and getting to the line six times.

Oddsmakers are expecting a step back for Schroder on Thursday night, pegging his points over/under at 9.5, but he’s proven to be a massive contributor in the Pistons’ veteran-heavy rotation in recent months.

After the calendar turned to March in the regular season, Schroder averaged 11.7 points per game in 27.3 minutes a contest.

He reached double-digit points in 15 of 21 games in that span, proving we may have some value with Schroder’s low points total Thursday.
