Elizabeth Hurley Proves Billy Ray Cyrus Romance Is a Wild Ride Already
Billy Ray Cyrus' heart is achy breaky no more.
Days after he and Elizabeth Hurley went public with their romance, the country music star detailed how they went from costars to lovers.
According to Billy Ray, it all began when the two struck up a friendship on the set of 2022's Christmas in Paradise after he had separated from his ex-wife Tish Cyrus, with whom he shares kids Brandi Cyrus, 37, Trace Cyrus, 35, Miley Cyrus, 31, Braison Cyrus, 30, and Noah Cyrus, 24.
"We did very few scenes together but the couple times we were in the same scene there was a chemistry there," he recounted in an upcoming episode of Apple Music Country's The Ty Bentli Show, per People. "We just laughed, and it was at a time I wasn’t laughing a lot."
The 63-year-old continued, "The oddest part was first, how much we laughed. Second, I figured we were so different but in some very strange way we had way more in common than we had different."
However, the two lost touch after filming ended and "didn't speak for two years," according to Billy Ray, who went on to marry singer Firerose in 2023 before their messy 2024 divorce.
And when he entered a particularly difficult chapter of his life, the Hannah Montana alum said he received a text from a number he "didn't even know."
"'Hey, it looks like life might be a little bit tough and just wanted you to know I’m in your corner; you’ve got a friend in your corner,'" Billy Ray recalled the message reading. "So, I text back, I go, ‘Who is this?’ And it’s like, 'Elizabeth Hurley.'"
For the "Could've Been Me" singer, having someone there was what he "needed most."

"She’s so impressively brilliant," he gushed of Elizabeth. "She reminds me a lot of Dolly Parton. She’s a very smart businesswoman."
While Billy Ray describes their bond as "beautiful," he has "no expectations of where we go from here." For now, he's just enjoying his time with Elizabeth, who is mom to Damian Hurley, 23, with the late film producer Steve Bing.
"If you can laugh together, you can make it through everything," Billy Ray added. "It’s been a long time since I’ve been this happy."
