When is the next NBA Finals game? The Oklahoma City Thunder are one win away from grabbing the first NBA championship in the Oklahoma franchise’s history. They play on Thursday night.
A lot of the Thunder's success this series is because of the play of Jalen Williams. Williams has been the Thunder’s second-best player all season long, but is really shining in the last few games of these NBA Finals.
This, of course, has started many NBA discussions about just how good Williams is. One top-75 All-Time NBA player, and six-time champion with the Chicago Bulls, weighed in on his thoughts.
In a recent interview with ESPN’s Tim MacMahon, Scottie Pippen said that he sees “a lot of me” when watching Jalen Williams.
As one of the, if not the, greatest second fiddles of all time, this means a lot coming from Pippen. Pippen went on to add, “I don’t even want to put a cap on him to say that he’s going to be me …I see him being greater.”
This is insanely high praise from one of the greatest to ever do it. Some may think Pippen, a seven-time All-Star and 10-time All-Defensive player, was greater than Williams could ever be. On the other hand, Pippen may have a point.
In his third season with the Bulls, Pippen averaged 16.5 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 2.6 steals per game. Pretty damn impressive.
Williams, on the other hand, averaged 21.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.6 steals per game in his third season with Oklahoma City.
So yeah, Williams may be on track for superstardom. However, becoming an all-time great like Pippen is going to take a lot more personal and team success.

For now, Williams is just focused on grabbing his first championship. If he does, his career will have started with even more success than Pippen's.
