Coby White could sign a four-year, $89 million extension in July, according to Chicago Sun-Times beat writer Joe Cowley.
But White has a better option for himself, according to the Sun-Times.
"White is eligible to sign a four-year, $89 million extension in July but would be much better served to bet on himself and get a much bigger payday as an unrestricted free agent after next season," Cowley wrote. "That payday could make him a $40 million-per-year player."
A four-year deal at about $160 million in total value would be an incredible get for White.
It's not clear yet what teams might be interested in offering White that kind of money.
White has played six years with the Bulls.
His scoring average has reached its peak in the last two seasons, at 19.1 ppg in 2023-24 and up to 20.4 this season.

This past winter, he also averaged 4.5 assists per game and shot 37 percent from 3-point range.
White has improved his game to the point where he deserves an opportunity at a big payday.
Chicago fans might not love a departure, but it sounds like White will probably move on, potentially to the highest bidder. Hopefully his talent can still get into the playoffs to show off his bouncy hair and sweet shooting stroke.
