Bucs' Bucky Irving, Chris Godwin get negative Week 7 injury updates from Todd Bowles

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are dealing with a slew of injuries to key offensive players ahead of their Week 7 matchup against the Detroit Lions.

Running back Bucky Irving (foot, shoulder) has missed the last two games, while wide receiver Mike Evans (hamstring) has missed the last three.

Wide receiver Chris Godwin (fibula) missed Week 6 and fellow wideout Emeka Egbuka (hamstring) exited the game early with an injury.

On Monday, Bucs head coach Todd Bowles revealed that both Irving and Godwin are highly unlikely to play in Week 7 against the Lions.

"Todd Bowles said Bucky Irving and Chris Godwin Jr. are almost certainly not playing in Detroit," 10 Tampa Bay's Evan Closky reported.

As for Egbuka, he's set to undergo tests on Tuesday to determine the severity of his hamstring injury, but a report from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport revealed Egbuka is expected to miss time.

When it comes to Evans, Bowles said the hope is that he can return to practice this week, so the door is open for his return to the field.

Bowles' update on Irving tracks with a report from The Tampa Bay Times' Rick Stroud, who said Irving could miss one or two more games after Week 6.

Rachaad White has been filling in for Irving in his absence and will resume his lead back duties for another week, with Sean Tucker spelling him. Both backs have filled in admirably for Irving over two games.

For a banged-up team like the Buccaneers, having an extra day of rest ahead of a Monday night game is a blessing.

We'll see if that helps Evans make his return to the field.

If he doesn't, the Bucs will lean heavily on Kameron Johnson, Cade Otton, Sterling Shepard and Tez Johnson.
