The Milwaukee Bucks have been on a mission to retool their roster around two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, bringing back multiple key rotation pieces from last season in the process.
One of those pieces is Ryan Rollins, who signed a three-year, $12 million deal with the Bucks on July 6. His contract includes a player option for 2027-28.
The 23-year-old had a breakout year last season, stepping into an increased role while Damian Lillard was sidelined. During that span, Rollins averaged 10.8 points, 3.9 assists, 3.1 rebounds, 1.7 three-pointers and 1.1 steals while shooting 47.8 percent from three-point range across 24.4 minutes per game in 13 regular-season outings.

Rollins’ new contract could end up being a steal for the Bucks, and general manager Jon Horst expressed excitement over the young guard’s continued development, according to Eric Nehm of The Athletic.
“For us to be able to invest in him, give him a deal that keeps him with us for a couple of years, it’s a bit of a bridge deal,” Horst said. “He’s got a chance to outplay it, and we’ll take care of him, we hope to figure it out at the end, but it gives him some security that I think he’s earned.”
A former second-round pick in 2022, Rollins was waived by the Wizards in January 2024 and joined the Bucks on a two-way pact over a month later. Since then, he has exceeded expectations and could continue to do so under his new contract.
He’ll likely compete for playing time with Cole Anthony behind Kevin Porter Jr. this season, and Rollins’ continued growth after a career-best year could prove important to Milwaukee’s success.
